Types of Otoplasty:

Elegant Ear Pinning (Traditional Otoplasty): For those seeking a refined profile, our ear pinning procedure is a graceful solution to reduce the prominence of protruding ears. By artfully reshaping and repositioning the cartilage, we bring your ears closer to the head, enhancing your natural allure with a subtle touch of sophistication.

Luxurious Ear Reduction (Macrotia Surgery): When your ears feel larger than life, our ear reduction surgery offers a specialized approach to create an appearance in perfect harmony with your facial features. With meticulous care, we delicately remove excess cartilage and skin, sculpting your ears to a size that complements your unique beauty, allowing you to indulge in your newfound confidence.

Exclusive Ear Augmentation: Our ear augmentation procedure is a truly personalized experience for ears that lack fullness. Using carefully selected cartilage grafts from your own body, we enhance underdeveloped ears with the utmost precision, creating a balance that accentuates your elegance and ensures your features radiate with poised perfection.

Masterful Ear Reconstruction: In cases of injury or congenital conditions, our ear reconstruction procedure is a sophisticated blend of artistry and expertise. We rebuild damaged ears with the highest level of surgical craftsmanship, ensuring a result that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, allowing you to bask in a beautifully restored appearance.

What to Expect: Pre-Treatment Phase

Before your Otoplasty journey begins, you’ll have the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Manolakakis for a personalized consultation, where your aesthetic aspirations and expectations will be the focus. During this intimate discussion, Dr. M. will conduct a thorough examination of your ears, taking precise measurements and carefully assessing your skin type and cartilage structure. This detailed evaluation ensures that the procedure is tailored to your unique anatomy, confirming that you are an ideal candidate for the transformative experience ahead. You will also receive pre-treatment instructions.

What to Expect: Operative Phase

You’ll be put under general anesthesia to ensure you’re comfortable during the procedure. The location of the incisions depends on the specific goals of your surgery. For Ear Pinning, incisions are usually made on the back of the ear. If incisions are needed on the front, they’re placed within the natural folds to hide any visible scarring. For Ear Reduction or Augmentation, incisions are made strategically, often in natural creases, to ensure minimal scarring while achieving the necessary corrections.

Dr. M. will reshape, remove, or reposition the cartilage and skin to give your ears the desired shape and position. Once your ears have been reshaped, the incisions are closed with sutures. Bandages or dressings may be applied to protect your ears and support their new position as they heal. The length of the surgery can vary depending on individual factors, but it generally takes about 2–3 hours.

What to Expect: Post-Operative Recovery and Care

After surgery, you’ll be taken to a recovery area where the team will monitor you until you wake up fully. Your ears will be wrapped to help reduce swelling and support their new shape. Using cold compresses can help minimize swelling and ease any discomfort. You might feel some discomfort, but it can be managed with prescribed pain medication. It’s normal to have some swelling and bruising around your ears, but this should go away within a few weeks. Keeping your head elevated and using cold compresses can help reduce these effects. If non-dissolvable stitches were used, they’ll typically be removed within 7–10 days. Be sure to avoid touching or rubbing the incision areas while they heal.

Everyone heals at a different pace, but most people can get back to their usual activities within 2–3 weeks. For the first few weeks, avoid activities that strain your facial muscles, like bending over, lifting heavy objects, or doing strenuous exercises. Protect your ears from sun exposure by wearing a hat and applying sunscreen to the area when you’re outside. Avoid strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and contact sports for at least a month. Most people can return to work and normal activities within a week, depending on how they feel and the type of job they have. You’ll have scheduled check-ups with Dr. M. to monitor your healing and address any concerns along the way.
