What to Expect: Pre-Treatment Phase

Once the decision to proceed with surgery has been made, there are several preoperative preparations to consider, such as medical evaluations, medication reviews, pre-op lifestyle changes, and recovery plans.

What to Expect: Treatment Phase

Morpheus is typically performed under general anesthesia, however, if Dr. M. confirms you are a candidate, it can also be done under local anesthesia. The treatment area is thoroughly cleansed to remove any makeup, oils, or impurities. The practitioner uses the Morpheus8 device to create controlled micro-injuries while delivering RF energy into the deeper layers of the skin. The depth of the microneedles and the intensity of the RF energy can be adjusted based on the patient’s specific needs and treatment goals. After the procedure, Dr. M. will provide post-treatment care instructions and may apply soothing creams or serums to the treated areas.

What to Expect: Post-Treatment Recovery and Care

Following your surgery, you will be taken into recovery, where you'll be monitored until you awake. Mild redness and swelling are common immediately after the treatment and usually subside within a few hours to a few days. Patients can use cold compresses to help reduce swelling. Patients should avoid touching or picking at the treated areas to prevent infection and ensure proper healing. Protecting the treated areas from sun exposure is crucial during the healing process. Patients should avoid direct sunlight and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Patients should follow a gentle skincare routine, including regular cleansing and moisturizing, to keep the treated areas clean and hydrated. The use of specific healing ointments or serums may be recommended. Patients should avoid applying makeup to the treated areas for at least 24 hours to reduce the risk of irritation. Strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and contact sports should be avoided for at least a few days to prevent excessive sweating and irritation.

Full healing can take several weeks, with the final results becoming apparent as the skin regenerates and collagen production increases. Subtle changes can continue to occur up to six months post-treatment. Regular follow-up appointments are necessary to monitor the healing process and address any concerns. Multiple treatments spaced one month apart are recommended for best results. The number of sessions will be discussed at your initial consultation. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and regular skincare routine can help prolong the results of the procedure.
