Once the decision to proceed with the procedure has been made, there are several preoperative preparations to consider such as medical evaluations, medication reviews, pre-op lifestyle changes, and recovery plans.
CO2 laser resurfacing is performed under general anesthesia. The skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove any oils, makeup, or impurities. The physician uses the CO2 laser to deliver short pulses of high-energy light to the targeted areas of the skin. The laser precisely removes the damaged outer layers of the skin while simultaneously stimulating collagen production in the deeper layers. Following your surgery, you will be taken into recovery, where you'll be monitored until awake. You may experience some discomfort, which can be managed through prescribed pain medication.
