PLATELET RICH FIBRIN/PLATELET RICH FIBRIN GEL (PRF/PRF-GEL) COSMETIC INJECTIONS

Rejuvenate Naturally with Platelet-Rich Fibrin Gel Injections at Advanced Facial Surgery

At Advanced Facial Surgery, Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) cosmetic injections offer a natural and innovative way to refresh and rejuvenate your skin, using your body’s healing power. PRF works by taking a small sample of your blood, which is then processed to concentrate the platelets – the special cells that help your body heal. These platelets are rich in growth factors, which encourage skin repair and regeneration.

Dr. Manolis Manolakakis, DMD, FACS, a dual board-certified cosmetic and reconstructive facial surgeon, expertly administers this treatment to help boost your skin’s healing and revitalization. With his extensive experience and compassionate approach, Dr. M. ensures that the PRF injections enhance your natural beauty, leaving your skin looking healthier, smoother, and more radiant. This treatment is a gentle, natural way to refresh your appearance without the use of synthetic substances, making it perfect for those seeking subtle, effective, skin rejuvenation.

How is PRF/PRF-gel created?

PRF Gel is made using a natural protein found in your blood called albumin. By gently heating and cooling the albumin, it turns into a gel-like texture that’s perfect for injections under the eyes, in the cheeks, or the lips. Because PRF Gel comes from your blood, it greatly reduces the chance of allergic reactions, infections, or other complications.

Unlike other treatments like PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), PRF releases its growth factors more gradually, allowing for longer-lasting results. Plus, there are no added chemicals or anticoagulants needed, making this a safe, natural option for those looking for a gentle yet effective way to refresh their appearance. The medical team at Advanced Facial Surgery takes special care in ensuring the best possible outcome, using this advanced method to help you achieve a more youthful, refreshed look.

How is the PRF/PRF-gel cosmetic injection procedure performed?

The PRF/PRF-gel cosmetic injection procedure is a simple and natural process. First, a small sample of your blood is taken, usually from your arm. This blood is then placed in a machine called a centrifuge, which gently spins it to separate the PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin), fibrin, and white blood cells. The PRF is carefully collected and placed into smaller syringes, which are used to inject it into the areas of your skin that need rejuvenation.

These PRF injections help your body produce more collagen, improve the texture of your skin, and reduce wrinkles, giving you a refreshed and youthful appearance. PRF can also be used to promote new hair growth when injected into the scalp. Additionally, PRF can be applied to the skin after treatments like microneedling or laser therapy to help speed up healing, reduce inflammation, and improve overall results.

How long does the PRF/PRF-gel injection procedure take?

The PRF/PRF-Gel cosmetic injection procedure is quick and easy, taking about 45 to 60 minutes from start to finish. It's a minimally invasive treatment with little to no downtime, so you can get back to your routine right away. For the best results, we usually recommend three treatments spaced one month apart.

It's important to consult with Dr. Manolakakis, DMD, FACS, who has extensive experience with PRF therapy, to see if this treatment is the right fit for your unique needs. Dr. M. will guide you through the process and ensure that your treatment plan is tailored to achieve the best possible results for you.

What to Expect: Pre-Treatment Phase

Your journey to a refreshed and more youthful appearance with Jeuveau begins with a personalized and thoughtful consultation with Dr. Manolis Manolakakis, DMD, FACS. Dr. Manolakakis will take the time to truly understand you and your unique needs, ensuring that your experience is as comfortable and reassuring as possible.

During this consultation, Dr. M. will carefully review your medical history, paying special attention to any conditions that may influence the procedure or your recovery, such as neuromuscular disorders or allergies to botulinum toxin. This thorough review ensures that every aspect of your health is considered, prioritizing your safety and well-being.

Dr. Manolakakis will then engage in a compassionate conversation with you about your goals and expectations for the treatment. He will listen closely to your desires, helping you to define what success looks like for you. Finally, Dr. M. will meticulously examine your facial anatomy, using his expert eye to determine the most suitable and precise injection sites for your Jeuveau treatment. You will also receive pre-treatment instructions.

What to Expect: Treatment Phase

The Jeuveau treatment is quick and simple, usually taking just 15 to 30 minutes. The area being treated will be carefully cleansed to remove any makeup, oils, or impurities. Using a fine needle, the practitioner will inject Jeuveau into the specific facial muscles being targeted. The number of injections and the exact spots will depend on your individual needs and the areas you’re having treated. The practitioner will check the results to make sure the right amount of Jeuveau has been used for optimal results.

What to Expect: Post-Treatment Recovery and Care

Try not to touch or massage the treated areas for at least 24 hours to prevent the Jeuveau from spreading to unintended muscles. Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, or anything that increases blood flow to your face for 24 to 48 hours after treatment. It’s best to stay upright for at least four hours after your treatment to reduce the risk of the Jeuveau moving to other areas. Mild swelling or bruising at the injection sites is normal and should go away within a few days. Using arnica gel or taking arnica tablets can help reduce bruising. Any mild discomfort can usually be handled with over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen.

You can apply makeup to cover any bruising or redness after 24 hours. You’ll start to notice results within 2 to 3 days, with the full effect showing up within 1 to 2 weeks. The results generally last about 3 to 4 months, so you’ll need follow-up treatments to keep up the look. Regular check-ins with Dr. M., he will help monitor your results and figure out the best timing for any touch-up treatments you might need.
